Battle at Lexington and Concord |
That the battle at Lexington was the start of the
Revolutionary War. The redcoats planned to capture colonial leaders Sam Adams
and John Hancock. With a warning, the patriots planned that they would fight
back. At Lexington, there were 77 minutemen with Captain John Parker against
250.
Before the battle began, a shot was
fired. Nobody knows who fired the shot. At the same time at Concord, there was
another battle, and another unknown shot. The two battles became known as the
Shot Heard around the World.
